Financial Transparency

As a 501 (c)(3) Nonprofit Charity, we find it incredibly important to remain as financially transparent as we are able to. Take a look below at where your donations are going

Project Anchor Down INC. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 99-3543324). Our fiscal year ends on December 31. We operate programs in coastal restoration, education, community events (including art galleries and yoga), research, internships (“coralites”), administration and employee salary, legal, new projects, expeditions, supplies and materials, and other routine operating needs.

We receive support from individual donations, grants, sponsorships, event ticketing, merchandise, and consulting or contract work. Funds from certain activities are reinvested in the same activity or campaign. For example, merchandise revenue supports merchandise and related campaigns, and expedition revenue supports expedition costs and research conducted during those trips.

Our aim is to direct the majority of resources to mission delivery while maintaining a lean back office. We target administrative expenses to average under 10% over time, subject to legal and compliance requirements and fair-market compensation benchmarks. Marketing and outreach are managed to support programs efficiently.

We accept restricted donations. Restrictions are tracked internally and applied in good faith to the specified purpose. Upon request, donors may receive a percentage allocation report for their gift. For privacy and operational security, we do not share vendor-level invoices as a standard practice.

C-level executive compensation is set at fair market value for comparable organizations and roles. Interns, called coralites, are paid fairly and competitively when in paid placements. Unpaid volunteer roles are clearly identified and optional.

Detailed datasets are published on our Research page when ready.

We are building a process to disclose operational footprint metrics, such as vessel fuel, staff travel, and waste diversion. This section will be published once internal tracking is complete.

Form 990 filings are available through the IRS. Independent audits or reviews are completed as required. We do not commit to a fixed public reporting cadence beyond our quarterly impact emails, but prospective donors may request additional summarized breakdowns before giving.
