About the event
Night of 1,000 Coralites is part science hangout, part art show, part low-key party. We turn a warehouse, gallery, or campus space into a reef in progress: projection maps of bleaching hotspots on the walls, microscopes at “reef bar” stations, coral skeletons and artifacts on display, and big sheets of paper where people are actually sketching out ideas for the next decade of reef work.
Throughout the night there are short, informal “Coralite Spotlights” where students and early-career scientists get 5 minutes to share something they are working on. No podium, no stiff lectures. Just a mic, a timer, and a room full of people who care about the ocean. Between talks you can wander, talk to researchers, help build a giant community reef mural, write a message to future reef scientists, or pin your idea on a big map of places that need attention.
Music is playing, there is…
